Kristan Demark




In 1992 Ms. Demark earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at LaSalle University. Upon graduation she began her work at the New Jersey State Aquarium involved with animal care and collection.

She later went on to work with seals, sea lions, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, wolves and otters at the National Zoological Park in Washington, D.C. Ms. Demark returned to the aquarium in 2000 as a senior biologist to work with penguins and seals. In 2004 she left the zoo and aquarium field to begin her career as a high school biology teacher.

Ms. Demark currently teaches Sea and Shore Ecology at Oakcrest High School in Mays Landing, NJ. She resides in Collingswood, NJ with her boxer Molly.
